oh, the excitement.

Trampoline time.

Got my bathroom stuff in!
Square, white porcelain vessel sink.
Crystal light fixture.
Chrome finished mirror.
Square, lucite soap thingy. (not pictured)
White, almost silver, shower curtain. (not pictured)
Just need a fresh coat of paint and a faucet.

Kitchen cabinets and walls = refinished and painted!
Waiting on the countertops to arrive.
Install new light fixtures this week.
Subway tile backsplash coming soon.
You have no idea how happy I am.
These pictures don't do it justice but i'll post better ones soon.

The other bathroom is coming along as well.
Hopefully this weekend everything will be installed in both bathrooms.
New countertops, 2 vessel sinks, 2 light fixtures.

Run run run.

baby.

Mommies are notorious for giving out advice to their pregnant friends.
(or to strangers.)
It's so annoying, i know!
I try not to do that, especially because every mom does things her own way.
You figure it all out with or without the advice of other parents.

Several friends of mine are currently pregnant and I've gotten a few inquiries as to what I would suggest first time parents need.
I'm no baby expert but I do know a lot of short cuts in life.
This shit is the bomb.com.
I didn't know about this for a month or two after Jack was born and it made life much more bearable.
We were exhausted and delirious.
Some babies like to eat every hour.
Some, every two.
24 hours a day.
Keep this thing by your bed.
You can make 2 bottles and put them in the cooler.
Baby wakes up at 3am?
There's already a bottle right there.
Pop it in the warmer.
Push the button.
BOOM.
Even if you breastfeed (i did) you can pump and daddy can wake up in the night and bottle feed the baby.
Everyone likes to do things differently, I'm just saying this is what worked for us.
My life-saver.

My other favorite thing- for mommies.
Duh, you know I love her.
Remember to take time for yourself or you will go crazy.
And my last piece of advice you probably don't want-
If people offer to help you out, take them up on it.
You want to do the dishes?
Sweet, thank you.
You want to hold the baby for an hour so I can sleep?
You are a live saver.

Did you know Tracy Anderson is pregnant right now?!
Super cute.
And I hear she filmed a pregnancy workout video!

So anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing lots of new babies on facebook.
You think you won't start posting cute stuff about your kid
but that's the funny thing about being a parent.
Shit's about to get real, you guys.

Jack and I had a busy day.
Bought a sink.
Discussed John Deere tractors.
Ran around town for a few hours.
Waited around for the cable people to come and fix our cable.
"I love that song, Mommy."
Cable people never showed.
We took a walk and just before it started to rain, we held hands and ran back to the house.
Jumped on our new, giant trampoline until the rain officially came.

Jack poses in a neighbors yard.

Took Jack to get a tiny pizza and a lemonade.
Like a true Oklahoman, he demanded a massive amount of ranch dressing.
Watched Diary of a Wimpy Kid for the millionth time this week.
Shared some Chex Mix and drank water.

This all sounds pretty perfect but I assure you, there were many tantrums.
Lots of mommy counting.
"1-  2---"
(Ok, I'll stop doing whatever I'm not supposed to be doing.)
Jack finally fell asleep after 10.
Way past his bedtime.

I texted with my mommy, did a little online Zara shopping, and did a little fashion blog browsing.
Ready for Saturday to be here already-
Little Brother and Fiance are coming to visit!
Jack is excited for "his" John John to be here.

slacker.

I am a slacker.
Occasionally.
Always have been.
Always will be.
Occasionally.

I've been too busy to blog lately and I think that's alright.
Lots of stuff happening.
Too much to catch up on so here are some photos and highlights.

Jack is still really handsome.

Jack is still really cute.

Jack says things like dude, awesome, totally, bummer, and golly.
Not the worst bad habits he could pick up from me so whatever.

Liked both of these, particularly the black but they didn't have the black in my size.
And I have no place to wear it anyway.

Ok.
So my hair has been ombre for quite some time now and I swear the ends were getting lighter and lighter
and I started getting tired of it.
I used a semi-permanent dark brown dye and no one-
I mean NO ONE (not my husband, not my friends or my family)
noticed.
Hey, it's cool, guys.
My hair was just blonde and now it isn't.
Or maybe no one likes it and they're just being polite.
Anyway.
The darkness is starting to fade a little now anyway.
But this is what it looked like the first day of dark.

I could have a way more expensive habit other than nail polish collecting.
I really love Prima Creative for inspiration and copycat challenges.

Running out the door on St. Pat's night, I quickly did this paint job
(I'm talking like 10 minutes)
because I wasn't wearing green.
We didn't stay out long though.
Explanation further down.

I can do the half moon two-tone kinda thing.
I can do free hand leopard print.
I CAN DO BOTH.
This is a straight up copycat though, I can't take credit for this cool look.

Sunday was Elmo day!
Jack has looked forward to Sesame Street Live for a solid month now.
He had such a good time.
We bought Sesame Street binoculars and a $10 Elmo balloon.
45 minutes later, I watched $10 float out of the car and into the sky.
sheesh.

Tomorrow the renovations on my kitchen and 2 bathrooms begin.
The pic above is just one of my many inspiration photos.
Kitchen: new countertop! subway tile! all new lighting! refinished cabinets! all new hardware!
!!!
super PUMPED.
super tired from packing away everything in my kitchen.
New (temporary) home: dining room.

Music update: still working on my solo thing, my band is playing Norman Music Festival again this year, and next week we'll be on TV playing some songs.

Jack is happy.

Jack is sweet.

Jack has spring break this week.
Mommy/Baby Special day everyday.
Lord, help me.
The cuteness, the tantrums, the cookies.

Goodnight.
