Kiss me, I'm Irish.

Last Friday, my little brother and his girlfriend flew in from NYC to spend their spring break in Oklahoma.  So, this weekend we've hung out with family quite a bit.  Baby has had a great time!  I think he thinks my brother's girlfriend is his new girlfriend!  He likes to hand her toys and look at photo albums with her.  She lets him turn the pages.  Friday night, dinner at mom's.  Saturday night, dinner at Yamato for my big brother's birthday.  This was Baby's first time at a hibachi grill and when the guy twirled and banged his knives around, it scared Baby and Baby screamed and his little hands held onto me tight.  It scared him into being good for a while.  I was more worried for my mom-  she had never seen Baby so scared before and was concerned.
Little Brother and Girlfriend bought Baby a long sleeve American Apparel shirt that say's "Anarchy in the Pre-K."  He wore it with his little navy blazer and his worn in Gap jeans.  Did you know that you can buy distressed baby jeans at the Gap?  I think that's funny.  Baby distressed these himself  though-  he started wearing them when we was still crawling everywhere.  Now he's running.
Little Brother and Girlfriend at a show at the Conservatory in OKC.
Bulletproof Tiger broke up and, long story short, fixed things.  Creative differences solved.  This is David.  He's going to start playing with us.
This was Saturday night.  We learned a few songs with David.  There will be switching instruments and whatnot.  A little organ, a little piano, a little harmonica, some guitar.
Monday night, my big brother played a show with the legendary Kid Congo Powers.  I kept thinking the show was in April so I had to find a babysitter at the last minute.  A friend of mine came over and played with Baby and put him to bed.  He's never had a  babysitter before so we were worried he would terrorize her but he had fun playing and was very good from what i hear.  THANK YOU KELLI!  Dinner is on us very soon.  Oh and I need to get your dishes back to you!  I've only seen you a million times since you brought them over.
My brother, Willie V, and I with Kid Congo.  He asked if we were mexicans.  No, native american, but close enough.  The light makes us all look green and it's gross but this picture will have to do.
Oh yeah, Happy St. Patrick's day!  Baby is hanging out in Healdton with family today and I'm n ot sure what I should be doing.  So far I've done some laundry and worked out.  Trying to decide if I want to start working on my backyard or if I want to find someone to go have a green beer with.  Problem is-  all of my friends are now grown ups and have real jobs so probably can't do early day drinking with me.  And honestly, starting the backyard sounds a little more fun to me anyway.  Wow.

Spring came for the weekend.

Somebody got a little baby haircut last week.  It started to look like a little mullet so something had to be done.  We had a few days of nice weather so there was no choice but to take Baby to the Duck Pond and for a few walks around the block.  He had a very good time.  In these photos, he's wearing one of my favorite flannel shirts and a pair of baby Wrangler jeans.  The shirt is almost too small so I thought we could get one more wear in before it's a belly shirt.  He's wearing his blue and silver Nike shoes as those are one of two pair of shoes that fit him.  I'm looking for a simple pair of white canvas slip-ons, so if you see any, let me know where!
The other day, Baby and I strolled into The Gap and picked up these plain black pants for $5.99!  Sold!  What a deal.  Even though they did not pick Baby to be a Baby Gap baby...  seriously, the babies they picked are cute but this baby is way cuter.  Am I right?  They probably didn't want to upset the other babies is what I'm thinking.  That's ok, he'll go on impressing everyone in the line at the store.  What a little Grocery Store Romeo he is.
Friday, Husband's sisters stopped by with Baby's baby cousin.  He's very unsure when Husband or I hold her.  He's also very sweet and lays his head on her head to snuggle.  He even tries to share his pacifier with her.
Baby's Aunt Natalie gave him a lawn mower so he can be just like his lawn obsessed dad.  (although i do believe a certain wife/mommy raking up huge piles of leaves before winter...  ahem.)
This weekend I also scored 2 pair of shoes and 2 bags.  A Prada and a Jimmy Choo to keep Marc and his friends in good company in my closet.  And just to make you even more jealous, I also had a wonderful Aveda hot stone massage at the Ihloff Salon.  A manicure and cookout were also on my list of things-to-do on Saturday.  Later that night, we met our friends at my brother's one man band show.
Sunday was very lazy.  Nice and relaxing.  And then I had to pinch a nerve in my back/neck area.  Can't pick up Baby.  Can't look to the right.  Can't look down.  Hopefully this will go away soon, especially since I have no choice but to carry a 30 pound baby around tomorrow.  Which reminds me=  tomorrow is my brother's 30th birthday!  Man, he's old.  (not really, i'm not that far behind him myself.  hah.)  And speaking of brothers.  My little brother will be flying into Oklahoma on Friday with his girlfriend.  Can't wait to see them.  This will be a good week.

I'm getting married!

Just kidding, I'm already married.  But I do like to think that I'm getting married and go online and pick out things I like for our pretend wedding.  Dresses and colors and registries and places and seasons.  I haven't done a wedding post in a while but it's hard to find the time to post anything.  Baby is currently napping on the living room floor.  I can't wait for one of my close girlfriends to get married so I can help plan showers and parties.  (So please hurry up and get engaged already, thanks.)

Goodbye February.

We ended the last weekend of February by a visit to Lyons Park. This is the first time Baby has really been old enough to enjoy things like slides and tunnels.  It was so nice out on Saturday, sun shining and warm, but we had things to do so went for a family outing on Sunday.
He loved the tunnel.  Loved it.
Husband took him down the twirl-y slide.
Baby climbed up the slide.
Baby saw me at the top waiting for him and got very excited.  Very proud of himself.
He tried to clap for himself while swinging but had to hunker down while clapping otherwise he would wobble in the swing.
Very surprised Baby kept his shoes on the entire time we were there.  He does not like shoes!

Baby visits his log cabin.
He found many sticks but liked this one the most.
Baby does a pull-up.
Last week Husband brought home a puppy!  Making him the 10th member of our little family.  Seriously, that is way too many members but he is just so cute, I couldn't say no.  We have 5 cats:  Jackson, Charlie, Snocone, Mojo, and Cookie.  2 Dogs:  Lucy and Banjo.  Jack loves Banjo.
So much that he wanted to ride him like a  pony.
Thursday night, Husband and I went to dinner at Iguana Lounge and then met up with some friends for the Elton John/Billy Joel concert.  They are badass-ez.  Friday night, Baby stayed with his Aunt Natalie and we went to the Old 97's show at the Wormy Dog and then swung by the Scott H. Biram show at the Speakeasy.  I'm pretty sure I ran into everyone I've ever met that night.  The first show we (The Oh Johnny! Girls) ever played was with Scott H. Biram.  It was 2005 and we were terrible and scared but it was fun.
Husband ready to see Old 97's.
Saturday we went to Husband's cousin's basketball game and Baby found a basketball to play with.  He played very hard that day!  So many people to show off for!
Sunday, before the park adventure, we had a late lunch at The Mont.  I had a black bean taco salad and Baby decided he wanted to eat all of the black beans.  It's hard to get him to eat anything other than crackers and brownies so I let him eat my lunch.

So now that February is over, I'm hoping the weather will lighten up and quit being so damn dreary!  I need sunshine.  I need to be out on the back porch playing music in the evenings and not freeze my ass off.  Seriously, I can't wait for some Spring action.  Flowers, sun, pretty lawn, short sleeves, dining al fresco, longer days, baseball games.  PLEASE HURRY!
