Beach House Lover

Today Baby was quite a handful.  Everyday he becomes more and more of a snakes and snails and puppy dog tails kind of boy.  He runs, he yells, he throws things and tantrums, he doesn't want to eat his vegetables, he wants brownies, he wants mommy to hold him, he wants to pull on the dog's eyelid, etc.  Oh my, my...  We went for a little front yard adventure today to see if we could get the cat to come play with us.  The cat is far too smart for that.  Baby didn't really want to wear his cowboy hat- he wanted to carry it around and sometimes pretend he was going to put it on and then yank it away when i would try and take a picture.  He still looks pretty cute though.
After the kitty hunt, Baby ran around the living room like a little Wild Thing.  He was in dire need of a nap and decided to take it, mid-crawl.  The joke was on me because he only slept for 5 minutes.
The sun actually made an appearance today so I was happy to break out some sunglasses.  Usually I wear Ray Ban Wayfarers or Ray Ban plastic aviators but today was a Dolce and Gabbana aviator kind of day.
This week my momma went to a conference in D.C. and yesterday she tripped and fell on concrete and had to go to the hospital.  She flew back last night and is now safe and sound at her Norman house.  She fell and hit her right cheekbone/eye area and her left hand was badly sprained, though, thank god, not broken.  Baby and I visited her this afternoon and it made me feel like crying.  Nobody wants to see their momma hurt like that.  Her eye is swollen shut!  Momma, let me just say, please take it easy and get better soon!  Baby kisses make it all better.  You can borrow him for however long it takes to recover.
Oh yeah, but on a happier note, Husband brought home a puppy today! Half siberian husky- half who knows. All cute. Not sure what his name is just yet but I will be posting photos soon. It's late, I should try and get sleepy now or something.

Happy Birthday, Husband.

Since turning one, Baby has decided he needs my full attention, every second of the day.  So sorry we've been gone from Sweet Action Paradise.  I've been taking pictures, I just haven't been very motivated lately.  Up top is a Valentine's picture of Baby.  I was, unfortunately, very sick that day with some 24 hour virus thing.  Ugh.  No good.  But Husband went grocery shopping and Baby gave me roses.  It was nice.  I ate a sweetheart shake from Sonic and it almost killed me.  They are delicious, just not good when you're sick.  Husband picked up some Victoria's pasta, also not good when you're sick but it was so tasty, I couldn't help but eat some.
Baby's favorite place=  sitting on the pool table.
Baby's second favorite place=  the steering wheel of a parked car.

So our album is almost finished.  2 more songs to go and it'll be done.   You can listen to most of it on my Bulletproof Tiger myspace page.
On another note, I cut my hair a while back.  And now I will grow out my bangs again.  I cut them, I like them for a few days and then I regret cutting them.  But I always seem to have bangs.  Straight across, skimming my eyebrows.  It's a vicious cycle.
This is pretty much what I wear all the time.  Jeans, heels, leather jacket, misc. shirt.  Ah comfort.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HUSBAND! I love you very much. Twenty-eight years old today. Two years ago, when I had only met Husband once, I met up with some friends at his birthday party at SUGER'S!  A gross but funny strip club in Norman.  (yes, mispelled and all.)  He was a little less than charming that night, let me say.  Funny memories.  We had a party for Husband and our friend, David, this weekend. It was fun and exhausting. It didn't get too crazy but we did stay up late playing dominos and pool. Well, we're off to eat sushi so I'll back here tomorrow.

Baby Chuck Bass

Do you watch Gossip Girl?  I love that show.  And I love that my husband kind of looks like Ed Westwick.  Very hot.  We exchanged some stuff at target (Husband got the wrong baby sizes) and found this super cool outfit.  It came with a pink button down, a black and white gingham tie, a pair of khaki pants,  and a navy blazer.  I want to save it for Easter or something like that but I  couldn't resist trying the shirt and tie on him.  When he first saw himself in the mirror, he was very proud of himself!  He smiled and stared at his clothes.  Staring at the mirror already...  It's going to be scary when we have a baby girl.

He got a little OU recliner for his birthday from his grandparents, complete with sippy cup holder.  It really reclines too!  He loves it.  It's so funny!  He felt very grown up yesterday.

What else is going on.  Hmm.  Well, I finished recording the last of my vocals for the album.  I entered us in the open band casting for the Norman Music Festival.  Maybe we'll get in, who knows...  never hurts to try, right?  My old band was supposed to play it last year but we had to cancel at the last minute and let my brother's one man band take our spot.  It was a fun day, though our friends were getting married that afternoon so we had to skip out early and run back late.  Check out the Norman Music Festival here.

Hopefully we'll be playing soon.  That's all I want to do.  That's all I did before I had Baby and now that it's been about a year and nine months since I was in a band full-time, I'm missing it more than anything.  I tried to trick myself into thinking I could be pregnant and play and have a new baby and play but it's pretty impossible unless you're super woman, which I am not.  But I'm ready now.  Sometime this summer we're going to do a show with a band called Penny Hill.  Listen to them here.

The snow is finally melting, thank God.  I hear it's supposed to be crappy weather toward the end of the week.  I hope the sun comes out and proves all of this bullshit wrong.  Saturday, Husband and I are headed to Dallas to see a Justin Townes Earle show.  If you haven't listened to him, you should.  And if you haven't checked out the last issue of GQ, you should.  He's in there.

Have a lovely week.
